The tunnel design is the most common one for tents in Norway. Simplicity, ease of functionality and the outstanding space-weight ratio make it the ideal shelter for fast moving wilderness travellers.
Two or more poles create the tunnel, which when tied down properly will suffice in all but the worst of weather. Equipped with generous vents and possibly with snow valances for use in winter, they are great year-around tents.
The dome tents have a robust design, with poles that cross each other diagonally. There are 2 to 4 poles which provide a number of crossing points for higher stability. This design is made for extreme conditions, e.g. in the Polar Regions. Once the poles are assembled, the tent is firm and tight. All you need is to anchor it to the ground.
